Obesity and significant weight loss
Obesity and significant weight loss surgery
When a patient is submitted to a surgical procedure for weight loss (bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric band, gastric balloon, vertical gastroplasty) or has made changes in the dietary habits, which have produced a massive weight loss, important changes on the body will be seen. In the majority of cases, these changes bring with them an important flaccidity of the skin that can be corrected through surgery.
Face and neck
The same procedures as for a face lift are used. They are not too notorious, and allow us to restore a youthful expression, resecting the fat and the excessive skin.
This procedure usually requires a medical leave and recovery time of 2 weeks.
Thorax, arms, back, and waist
From these regions the remaining excess of fat will be removed, and in those cases where needed, skin will be readjusted. The latter procedure might leave a scar.
This procedure requires a medical leave and recovery time of 10 days.
Abdomen, waist (circumferential abdominoplasty) and genitals
The skin and fat excess in this area build an apron that hangs over the genitals and thighs when there has been a significant weight loss. It is feasible to adjust the skin and fat tissue, obtaining and incredible figure, while positioning the genitals appropriately.
This procedure requires a medical leave and recovery time of 21 days.
Thighs and calves
Just as in the aforementioned areas, it is possible to resect the excess of fat and skin tissue from thighs and calves, in order to obtain a balance between the thorax, abdomen, and extremities.
This procedure requires a medical leave and recovery time of 21 days.
Buttocks
The consequential flaccidity of weight loss, and the loss of gluteal volume, makes it necessary to adjust the skin and give some volume to it, to reproportion the glutes, since they are an important element of the body contour.
This procedure requires a medical leave and recovery time of 21 days.
